We're vegetarians with a twist and a love for experimenting with new food. Paul, aka 'Director of Fun', can’t handle much lactose, so even though we’re not vegan, we don’t use cows milk or any creams -- whipping cream, sour cream, heavy cream, etc. I always find fun alternatives. My kids, while I’m amazed at their love for green foods, can still be picky. I try to give them a break since they’re young, but I want them to eat everything we do! I constantly find ways to sneak vegetables and seeds into their meals. I enjoy cooking vegan, gluten-free and raw. I try to eat healthy, but I have a serious salt tooth. Did I mention I listen to Michael Jackson when I cook? Guilty pleasure!

Eating fresh, local and organic has been an important part of our lives for a number of years now. Once I started my journey as a stay at home mom and we had only one source of income, I had to learn how to be very practical with our money, as well as my time. I’ve taken on different strategies of grocery shopping so that we can get the most out of our local farmers as well as getting organic food. I started making my own cleaners, body products, toothpaste, became a better gardener and found many other useful at-home tips and tricks to save money while being conscious of the earth that has given so much to us. We try to be as organic as we can, within our means so I need to stay practical. With my family’s best interest in mind, I’ve learned how to be PractiGanic.
