Natural Body Spray

I love body sprays. There was one from Victorias Secret that I fell in love with a long time ago and per usual, they canceled it. It was patchouli and honeysuckle. Magical.

So, instead of looking around to find another smell that I loved as much as my old one I figured it's a perfect time to make one. I couldn't find a honeysuckle essential oil so I went through the cupboard to see what would pair well with the ever-so-strong patchouli ... lavender was a great match. It is soft and subtle and blends great with the patchouli scent.

If this isn't quite your smell, find what works great for you. I suggest keeping the vegetable glycerine in the mix though. It helps retain moisture. It draws oxygen to the skin which is helpful for anti-aging. Vegetable glycerine is also hypoallergenic so if you have sensitive skin or issues with acne, this will actually help prevent breakouts and keep pores clean. Sound like amazing stuff right?!

Also, many body sprays contain alcohol which works to sooth and disinfect your skin. Witch hazel does that as well as working as an astringent to tighten pores and remove excess oil. It is calmer on your skin so I opt for using witch hazel over alcohol sprays.

In a pinch, I'll even use it as a quick deodorant, but the amount of witch hazel as well as the essential oils in my Homemade Deodorant Spray make it a bit stronger for under the arms.

Natural Body Spray

Hippie Mama Body Spray

5 oz distilled water
2 0z witch hazel
1/2 oz coconut or hemp oil
1 t vegetable glycerine
30 drops patchouli
30 drops lavender

8 oz spray bottle

Mix all in a bottle and spray away! I like putting a little in a 2 oz bottle so I can keep it in my car or diaper bag as a quick freshener!
